Taste By Winnie

Taste By Winnie is a catering business based in Texas. We built a new digital experience that brings its website, online ordering, payments, order tracking, and day-to-day operations into one system.

Client names and results are shared once each client approves public use.

Outcome
Online ordering and operations system launched in one week.

The challenge

Taste By Winnie relied heavily on WhatsApp and manual processes to manage customer orders and payments. Its existing website also wasn't built around the way the business actually operated. The goal was to create a better customer experience while giving the team the tools to manage orders without relying on manual processes.

What we did

We designed and built a custom ordering platform around Taste By Winnie's menu and operations. The experience combines a brand-led website with online ordering, payments, order tracking, automated notifications, and an internal operations dashboard.

From manual to connected.

A simpler way to run orders

The new system connects the customer experience with the team's internal workflow.

  1. Orders handled through WhatsApp
    Customers order directly online
  2. Manual payment coordination
    Integrated online payments
  3. No central order management
    Centralised order management
  4. Manual customer updates
    Automated customer notifications
  5. Developer-dependent menu updates
    Self-managed menus and settings

Ordering and operations depended on disconnected manual processes.

A connected platform gives customers and the team a clearer way to manage the entire order journey.

What we built

  • Online ordering. A streamlined ordering experience with menu categories, variants, add-ons, promo codes, pickup scheduling, and automatic deposit calculations.

  • Payments & notifications. Square and PayPal payments are connected directly to the ordering flow, while email and push notifications keep customers updated throughout the order lifecycle.

  • Order tracking. Customers can check their order status, pickup details, and payment status using their email and phone number.

  • Operations hub. A central dashboard for managing incoming orders, statuses, customers, payments, pickup schedules, and day-to-day operations.

  • Self-managed operations. The team can manage menus, pricing, availability, pickup schedules, promotions, FAQs, and other business settings without developer involvement.

  • Staff & permissions. Role-based access (RBAC) for staff, managers, and owners, with permissions based on their responsibilities.

  • Business email. Team email on Taste By Winnie’s own domain, set up alongside the new system so staff and customers see one consistent brand.

The result

Taste By Winnie now has a complete digital ordering and operations system. Customers can order and pay online, track their orders, and receive automatic updates, while the team manages the operation from one place. The platform was built and launched in one week.
